Cavalier Club

ATTENTION ALL FOOTBALL AND CHEERLEADER PARENTS

The Cavalier Club is the sole source of funding for Calhoun Academy Athletic Programs. Part of our fundraising efforts includes having a concession stand open at all athletic events. It is critical that parents of athletes and cheerleaders help with this. When you are scheduled to work a shift, it does not mean you can show up for part of the shift or not at all. If you cannot work any part of your shift, it is your responsibility to get someone to fill in for you while you are not there. This has become a problem and is unfair to those that do show up. We are thinking of requiring a check for $100 at the beginning of each season. If you work your whole shift, we give the check back to you. If you do not show up, we will use it to pay for your replacement. As a general rule, we try to schedule concession duty so that it does not interfere with parents watching their child play or cheer. Depending on the numbers of players at each level, we may not always be able to accomplish this. Please remember that your participation is needed to make our athletic programs a success and that we do this for our children.

Our Mission:
The Mission of the Cavalier Club is to provide the very best in athletic equipment, uniforms, and sports facilities for its student athletes, while working to provide a wholesome and safe environment for Cavalier Families to come and support the mission of the School. We exist solely to support the student athletes of Calhoun Academy and the athletics in which they participate. What a privilege it is to be a part of something special!

What is the Cavalier Club?
The Cavalier Club is a group of parents, alumni and friends of Calhoun Academy who devote their time and energy, and provide financial support to the Cavalier Athletic Program. In addition to furnishing uniforms and sports equipment for the School's athletic teams, the Cavalier Club also provides sports facility maintenance for the athletic fields and gymnasium and offers concessions at all home sporting events. During the summer of 2013, the Cavalier Club funded a major facilities upgrade by replacing gym floor. During the 2013 - 2014 school year, the Cavalier Club installed lighting and erected a brand new press box at the softball field. We have added a batting cage for softball and baseball. We upgraded all the weights for the weight room and moved it to a larger space. We added a room for our athletic trainer, and we are starting to renovate our locker rooms. We will continue to work on facilities’ upgrades as part of our mission and purpose and will continue to call on members of the Cavalier Club to support these endeavors.

Who can join the Cavalier Club?
The Cavalier Club invites families of all current students, alumni, friends and grandparents to become a part of the Cavalier Club and support the Calhoun Academy Cavaliers! The Cavalier Club is open to any individual, business or family who supports Calhoun Academy Athletics (not just parents of athletes). We encourage parents of all CA students to join the Cavalier Club. The vision and hope is that parents of the younger students will join the Cavalier Club and instill in their children that awesome Cavalier Pride from a young age by attending football games and other events.

How can I support the Cavalier Club?

  • JOIN THE CAVALIER CLUB and display our Club decal on your vehicles!
  • Volunteer your time at Cavalier Club events and attend meetings to have your voice heard
  • Become a Corporate Sponsor for a Cavalier Club fundraising event
  • Purchase a Corporate sign for the football / soccer field
  • Come out and support the Cavaliers in all athletic events

2016 – 2017 Preview – FOOTBALL PARKING!

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE KICKS OFF JUNE 1st! Don't wait until Book Day to join!! Registration forms can be mailed to the school office during the summer to the attention of Mary Shannon. Membership levels include an option to get two Student Games Passes in place of 1 Adult Game Pass. Also, Reserved Football Parking is available at the Blue and Gold Level on a first come, first serve basis. Spaces are limited so don't miss out! Preference will be given to the prior year's football parking patrons. Be sure to look for the Cavalier Club tent at Book Day.

Other activities for 2014 – 2015 include:

  • 6th Annual Oyster Roast and Auction
  • Golf ball drop
  • Lower School Valentine's Dance
  • Athletic Banquet

Athletic Fee - $50 per athlete/sport
The Athletic Fee is due and payable for each and every student who participates in Calhoun Athletics. It is $50 again this year. In an attempt to spread out fees and so forth that are due at book day, payment of the Athletic Fee can be made anytime between now and the beginning of school. However, the fee must be paid by the deadlines below:

  • FALL SPORTS September 1, 2017
  • WINTER SPORTS November 1, 2017
  • SPRING SPORTS February 1, 2018
