Will Andrews '23 and William Felder '23 were recently selected to return to Palmetto Boys State as junior counselors. Both young men are currently seniors at Calhoun Academy. 691 high school students attended Palmetto Boys State this past summer. Of those, 315 applied for the 60 available slots to return as a junior counselor next summer.
Boys State, which is sponsored by the American Legion, is an annual week-long program that teaches young men about government and politics. Every state except Hawaii conducts a Boys State program. The program in South Carolina is called “Palmetto Boys State” and is widely considered one of the top leadership programs in the country.
Congratulations to these two young men!
